Just over four weeks ago Mr Faisal replaced my right hip. I found him to be kind and understanding from the start and having just had my follow up appointment with him he answered all my questions most thoroughly. My care at the Nuffield hospital was excellent though it took a while to sort out the correct pain relief for me - morphine and codeine made me sick and so I had to stay an extra day in hospital to overcome that. I have been walking without crutches for two weeks and by following advice from Mr Faisal and the physiotherapists at the Nuffield I am making a very swift recovery. The importance of rest and exercise was stressed to me and if you do as you're told, after three weeks of discomfort, you will be feeling great. Thank you Mr Faisal!

Could not ask for a more skilled professional with a lovely manner, to replace my hip. Incredibly quick recovery too. Highly recommend.

Right from my fist meeting with him some weeks before my total hip replacement Mr Faisal explained everything clearly to me. He was happy to accommodate my request to have a spinal anaesthetic and be awake for the operation. I didn’t require sedation either. Just over an hour after the operation ended I was propped up in bed, with a cuppa and a sandwich. A couple of hours after that I was up with a walking frame! I was discharged from hospital after 2 nights, totally comfortable with my crutches. In under a fortnight I was down to 1 crutch, and in 4 weeks I was crutch free. After 10 weeks I’ve just swum 1.2KM breaststroke - just as I used to before my hip pain put a stop to it earlier this year. I’m 48 - and I feel like I’ve got my life back. Thanks Mr Faisal

Mr Faisal is a very nice man and excellent surgeon. He treated me for a hip replacement and I found him to be extremely kind and reassuring. The procedure was fully explained and he answered all my questions. His consultations felt relaxed and not at all rushed. The after care has been excellent too, I am now fully recovered and I am so happy the surgery was completed by Mr Faisal.

Mr Faisal was both professional and kind. He explained everything that was involved in the procedure for a total replacement of my knee and what would happen on the day of the operation. Everything was calm and reassuring in the theatre and was exactly as had been described. The pain is pretty bad but I knew what to expect. I was given excellent help and encouragement from all the staff and especially the physiotherapists. When I left the hospital I knew from the advice I’d been given by Mr Faisal, that I needed to exercise, rest, exercise, rest and do on through the day. On my first day home I just did gentle exercises but the next morning I used the chart I had been given to show what I needed to do. Mr Faisal saw me after two weeks and examined the wound then 8 weeks later he again examined the scar and was happy to sign me off. In between seeing Mr Faisal the first and second time I attended the physio sessions and continued to exercise at home. I am delighted with the result. I had my first knee operated on in February 2018 and the other knee operated on in July 2018. Since the end of August I have been pain free when walking. I feel as if I’ve got a new life. Thank you.
